| Your Dads 'n Lads holiday will be packed with
adventure activities. Below is an example of a typical adventure break
with details of some of the activities. These are changeable dependent
upon inclement weather conditions and the concerns and fears of both the
Dads and Lads |
| |
| Some of the father son activities Dads
'n Lads offer include: |
| Climbing
at Quinag, a 2000 foot “mountain” on the Lochinver
peninsular. This involves a spectacularly beautiful drive to and
along the West Coast and then a guided climb up Quinag, which we
call the Mighty Quinn, specially selected for ease of access and
panoramic views. |
| Games played in the
drawing room at Poyntzfield
includes Charades, Wink Murder, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John, Lists
and The Fruit Game etc. |
| Ceilidh Practice is
a hosted event where everybody is helped by a Dads 'n Lads guide
to come up with, improve and rehearse a party piece whether musical,
verbal or mime for the end of week ceilidh/party on Friday night. |
| A two-morning tournament
in both sports will be organised: five a side football and pairs
snooker or pool, both with time limits. |
Apply now and reserve your
place!
|
With excellent Paintball
(and Clay Pigeon shooting facilities on the Black Isle this is a
perfect opportunity for both Dads and Lads to show off their marksmanship.
|
| |
| There are many rivers
and lakes in the Highlands running through spectacular scenery and
Dads 'n Lads offers the opportunity to get out among that within
a controlled and safe environment. Available activities include
canoeing, sailing, fishing and white water rafting. All activities
are guided and instructed by fully qualified professionals. |
| By Thursday night the
fathers will really have earned their adults only night out and
what a night it will be! Hootananny,
which is owned by the co-founder of Dads 'n Lads, is an award-winning
Scottish Ceilidh bar. The best table in the house right in front
of the stage will be reserved for the eight fathers and a delicious
meal will be prepared for you. Hootananny
gets the best Scottish ceilidh bands. |
| Ceilidh is gaelic for
“visit” but it has become to mean “party”
because whenever Gaels visit one another it invariably degenerates
into a party. Everyone is expected to perform their party piece
at a ceilidh. It is the tradition. There will also be a prize giving
ceremony reminding everybody of the highlights of the week. |
|
| Barbequed supper and
cans of fizzy drinks for the boys and cans of beer for the Dads.
Opportunity for stories, songs, jokes etc. Event led by a Dads 'n
Lads singer songwriter with acoustic guitar. |
| Another challenging
and fun day out for both Dads ‘n Lads on the nine holes of
the stunning Aigas
golf course. Excellent for beginners and advanced players. |
There are many mountain
bike routes through glens and mountains in the Highlands offering
exciting and adventurous opportunities to fathers and sons.
Dads 'n Lads provides the bikes and related equipment to fully take
advantage of this opportunity. |
| Dads 'n Lads is a television
free environment, so, for example, the Lads Chill-Out evening comprises
a self serve supper which they buy and cook themselves, under supervision,
as much junk food and sweeties as they can guzzle, and traditional
board games and card games after supper. |
